Get ready for a lot more weddings!
With vaccination rates growing; restrictions on gatherings loosening; and warmer weather around the bend, there seems to be some light at the end of this crazy, long tunnel.
With this new age of euphoria blossoming, those of you who held off on wedding plans and other events, are now rushing to re-book and book the big day. However, many of you are finding the halls you want and the date you want are taken. And you may have to wait until 2023!
So, what's a person to do? No worries! Hold your event in a place that's always available, whenever you want . . .
YOUR BACKYARD
Outdoor weddings can be memorable and romantic, but even when working with venues that specialize in this and offer all the support, it can still be daunting. Trying to do it all on your own, in your own place can be down right insane.
But, no worries, again! FNA Events has been doing hundreds of these – even during the COVID-19 pandemic, so we know a thing or two or 5 what you should think about. Ready? Here we go:
Work with a Skilled Events Group
Yes, this is a shameless plug for our amazing services. But, in lieu of a point-of-contact at a wedding venue, the right events group that can manage your music, photography and video is a must! Not only can we bring all the party elements to your location, we can advise you on what you'll need to be successful, from where to get chairs to tenting to flowers. We've been around it all, we've seen it all, and we know what's going to work and what's not.
Pest Control
We're not talking about in-laws or party crashers, we're talking about those tiny mosquitoes that only seem to come out when you and your guests are sitting on that nice, green lawn. Consider having your site sprayed by an exterminator a couple of days in advance, or, at the very least, strategically setting up citronella candles or electric fans – bugs don't need much force to be pushed away and a fan is a perfect solution.
Plan for the Worst, Expect the Best
We all imagine beautiful sunshine or a moonlit night, but expect the weather to not cooperate and be prepared. Tenting is your best solution, especially if you don't want people running into your house to cover from any raindrops (which we're hoping won't happen). It's also nice to have as a place duck away from the sun. And within the tent, you can get creative with decor from hanging lights to wrapping flowers around nearby poles and bars.
Bathrooms
Again, you may not want people running into your house. Portable toilets have come a long way, and we've seen some sophisticated stand-alone trailers that may be nice enough to rival what you can find indoors. Major plus, you don't have to clean up afterwards.
Power Up
Seems like a no-brainer, but you'll need electricity for lights and music and maybe a few fans. Instead blowing out the fuse box in the house, rent a generator that will take care of all your worries.
Finally, enjoy this unique experience. Whenever you look out onto the yard after the party is over, you'll always have the memories of what occurred there. Doing this on your own and outdoors gives you a blank canvas to create whatever you want. It can a lot of fun, and we can help you make it happen – on the day you want!
