Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Why should I hire a cinematographer for my event?

If you like the idea of being able to relive your event for years to come, then event cinematography is a service that you should definitely consider!  Specializing in weddings, we here at FNA Events can customize a video package to fit any need.  Cinematographers are responsible for capturing audio and video, and doing it in. a way that best tells the story of the day while using creativity in framing shots.  If a picture is worth 1000 words, just imagine how much you will love your video!

  • When will the cinematographer be arriving for my wedding?

Wedding Cinematography should start at minimum the same time as the Lead Photographer, to start capturing details.  Film crews will often start earlier, setting up shots for B-roll and drone footage.  We will typically aim to arrive 30 min early or more, to compensate for traffic, new locations, launching the drone, and more.

  • Should I consider hiring a second cinematographer?

A second cinematographer is always a  great addition to the team for a wedding day.  It's especially useful when the couple is getting ready at separate locations.  We can always reenact some portions of prep, but it's definitely not the same emotion.  A solo cinematographer can bounce back and forth between suites at a hotel room if they are close by but if there's two photographers and only one cinematographer you are always missing something!

  • Are multiple cameras used? When?

For some events like birthday or engagement parties, a single camera is sufficient to document the day.  For a wedding, our cinematographers will bring 3-4 cameras to capture the day.  One camera is used for bride / groom prep.  A second camera may be used at first look, that's one more great reason to have a second shooter.  For ceremony and formalities including reception intros, dances, and speeches, 3 cameras will be used to capture multiple angles.  A drone may be used to capture establishing shots of venue and first look.  If a second shooter is present, we have an opportunity to capture stunning drone footage of outdoor ceremonies if applicable.

  • Approximately how long in length will my film(s) be?

Teaser Film: 1-2 minutes

Highlight Film: 3-5 minutes

Full Length Film: 25-60 minutes

Total Feature / Bonus Raw Film: 1-4 hours

  • Approximately how long after my event will I receive my film(s)?

Teaser Film: 24-72 hours

Highlight Film: 3-5 weeks

Full Length Film: 25-60 minutes

Total Feature / Bonus Raw Film: 1-4 hours

  • Will I have drone footage in my film(s)

Drones are used by cinematographers in packages listed above.  Things we might shoot with the drone could be a hotel or house for prep, the venue, first look, ceremony, golden hour, exit shots, or anything else that may help tell your story.  Drones can be used for excellent establishing shots to films including longer panning / moving shots.  It will be discretion of the film maker whether or not it is safe to launch a drone.  If it is raining to heavy or we are too close to an airport, drone flight might not be safe.

  • What kind of music will be used in my film(s)?

FNA Events subscribes to a database of royalty free music that will typically be used for highlights.  Normally we avoid copyrighted music for sharing purposes.  The editors may use music from your day for Full Length Films or Total Feature Films, pulling music from various parts of the day including ceremonies, first dances, and reception.

  • How will my film be delivered? What quality of digital film is used?

Films from FNA Events will be delivered digitally through a website called Mediazilla which privately hosts wedding films in a nice library with a menu for navigation.  We may also provide links to Vimeo or YouTube so that you may share.  We film in 4k and 1920  x 1080p, sometimes shooting in either 24, 60, or 120 frames per second for super slow-mo shots.
